Certificate of Still Birth

Sari Edber, together with Kirsten Pert and Sunita Param, worked tirelessly in 2007 to sponsor and lobby for California's Certificate of Still Birth, a government issued document that can be requested by bereaved parents who have endured the death of a baby after the 20th week of pregnancy.

Stillbirth parents are automatically given Certificates of Fetal Death... however, a death certificate only tells half of our precious children's stories. They were stillborn, but, they were STILL born. This additional certificate would offer documented proof of their births, as well. Many families find great meaning in this official acknowledgement of their babies' existence.
